The Journey of the Turkish Rose That Changed the World of Perfume
Every great perfume begins with a story.
Ours does not begin in a laboratory in Paris, but in the rose fields of Isparta, in the heart of Anatolia.
Duration: 1,5 hour
Location: Sultanahmet / ISTANBUL
Workshops: available in English, French, Russian, Turkish,Italian.
Perfume Making in Istanbul. Create the perfume of your dreams! Workshop Available Everyday 14:00 or 18:00 by Appointment.
Before sunrise, while the morning air is still cool, local farmers begin harvesting the roses by hand. This is the precious moment when the Turkish rose reveals its richest fragrance. Within hours, thousands of delicate blossoms are distilled in traditional copper stills, leaving behind one of the world’s most precious natural ingredients: Turkish rose oil from Isparta.
These few drops are much more than an essence. They carry the richness of the land, the freshness of the dawn, generations of craftsmanship, and a centuries-old tradition.
That is why some of the world’s greatest perfumers have chosen the Turkish rose for their most iconic creations. The Isparta rose is admired not only for its beauty, but for the depth, elegance, and soul it brings to a perfume.
Paris is considered the capital of modern perfumery. Yet, at the heart of many legendary Parisian fragrances lies a flower that began its journey in Anatolia. Every drop of Turkish rose oil travels an invisible path—from Isparta to Paris.
Our workshop continues that journey.
Here, you will not simply create a perfume. You will discover the same natural materials used by master perfumers, learn how they think, and compose a fragrance that reflects your own personality.
Just recently, I travelled to Isparta to harvest roses before sunrise. I shared breakfast with the local villagers, watched the traditional distillation process, and personally selected the rose oils that I brought back to Istanbul for our workshops.
Every drop you use today is part of that authentic journey.
When you leave, you will carry much more than a bottle of perfume.
You will carry the morning of Isparta City.
The rose fields of Anatolia.
The artistry of Parisian perfumery.
And the timeless story of the Turkish rose that has connected these two worlds for generations.
This is more than a perfume workshop. It is a fragrant journey from Isparta to Paris by Nurdogan Senguler.

ATTENTION
More Than a Perfume Workshop – A Journey into the Art of Fragrance
At Gallery Les Arts Turcs, perfume is not treated as a souvenir or a tourist activity. It is introduced as an art form shaped by nature, culture, craftsmanship, and memory.
Since 1997, Gallery Les Arts Turcs has welcomed visitors from around the world to experience authentic Turkish arts through workshops led by skilled artists. Today, this philosophy continues through our exclusive perfume workshops.
Our sessions are guided by experienced perfumers and artists using carefully selected natural raw materials. Rather than relying heavily on synthetic fragrance ingredients, we focus on the richness and complexity of botanical essences whenever possible.
Every ingredient has a story.
The rose you blend into your perfume is not just a beautiful scent—it carries the history of the rose fields of Isparta, where the flowers are harvested by hand before sunrise. We have walked those fields, picked the roses alongside local farmers, shared breakfast with their families, and witnessed the traditional copper stills transforming thousands of fresh blossoms into precious rose oil.
During the workshop, these stories become part of your creative process. You will discover where fragrance materials come from, how they are cultivated, distilled, and valued by the world’s greatest perfume houses.
Instead of simply following a formula, you will learn to build a fragrance by understanding the harmony between top, heart, and base notes while creating a perfume that reflects your own personality.
This is why our workshop is different.
You are not only making a perfume.
You are discovering the people behind the ingredients, the traditions that preserve them, and the centuries-old connection between Anatolia and the art of perfumery.
When you leave, you take home something much more valuable than a bottle of fragrance.
You take home a story—one that began before sunrise in the rose fields of Isparta and continues with every drop of the perfume you created.
